Butterflies in the Heart – A Poem

Standard

Butterflies in the Heart
by Talin Mari

Butterflies multiplying in my heart,
Trapped by its enclosed chambers.
Fluttering their wings to stay apart,
Gravitating towards being in pairs.

Restricted,
Restrained,
Revealed,
Resigned.

Butterflies wanting to escape feeling,
But the thick walls are too confining.
Trying to destroy the wall’s restraint,
Slowly the butterflies find an escape.

Unannounced,
Unanticipated,
Unleashed,
Untamed.

Butterflies multiplying in my heart,
Released from its detained prison.
Consuming all of my inner organs,
Withdrawing to let it embrace me.

Released,
Realized,
Reunited,
Reveled.
